Leadership for Automated Energy Processing’s (LEAP) goal is to encourage efficient and reliable transaction processing in energy trading through automation and standardization. Consistent with this goal, LEAP endeavors to pursue the automation of trade data exchanged bilaterally and voluntarily between counterparties and companies providing ancillary inspection, storage, pipeline transportation, and related services supporting energy transactions. LEAP seeks to develop and promote the use of electronic data standards, conventions and solutions that facilitate and encourage automation.

LEAP, as a non-profit association, requires voluntary participation from relevant organizations that become LEAP members. Companies that join LEAP have a common interest to cooperate, become involved and contribute to the successful adaptation of LEAP initiatives for the betterment of the entire industry. Through collaboration, LEAP membership brings about positive change and encourages improved business practices to result in greater accuracy, efficiency, consistency, managed risk, and regulatory credibility.
