ARA Barge Demurrage Webinar Recordings Now Available
Enabling Business Value
Since the draft standard was published earlier in 2021, a variety of engagements has enabled the core team working on the ARA Barge Market, to consult on their proposals across the industry. There is good feedback that the standardisation of format and terminology allows for swifter processing and data comparison between sources, easier identification of discrepancies and offers the ability for automation of demurrage claims. The proposed draft standard is published here and is free to use across the Industry.
Most recently, the team has shared information on this through a series of Webinars.
• In the first of these webinars, members of the core team share their passion for this work, and how they see this will make a difference to the industry. Whilst this received a strong following, some invitees were unable to join at this specific time, so due to popular demand, we are now sharing the recording online to make this accessible to all. Watch the Energy LEAP ARA Barge Demurrage Webinar below.
• In addition, the recent Comrisk and Digicom conference provided another opportunity for Energy LEAP to share a more succinct version of this initiative. This was put in the conference agenda as a thought leading example on how a cross-business focus on shared data definitions, is the key to unlocking digitisation value. Watch this Webinar which includes Erik Lankamp as the initiative leader.
In both cases, the Webinar provides:
• Introduction to LEAP and the Barge Demurrage team
• The added business value for applying the standard
• The content on the data standards
• Open forum for questions and suggestions
What happens next?
Based upon the broad and positive feedback for their draft standard, the working group in now putting the finishing touches to their draft standard Version 0.9, which will be shortly finalised and published as Version 1.0.
The team is actively considering additional opportunities in the ARA Barge market, which will deliver further digitisation value across the industry.
