Draft compliance clauses for EU LNG import authorization published

    Energy LEAP is pleased to publish draft compliance clauses in response to Regulation (EU) 2026/261 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 26 January 2026 on phasing out Russian natural gas imports and preparing the phase-out of Russian oil imports, improving monitoring of potential energy dependencies and amending Regulation (EU) 2017/1938.

    The purpose of the clauses is to assist market participants with standardization of contract language for obtaining relevant information in order that an importer of LNG may obtain prior authorization for imports of LNG. The Compliance Clauses are available to download here.

    The working group will continue to monitor and adjust the necessary wording considering any additional information which arises, and welcomes any feedback encountered in the use of these clauses.
